X-Ray Optical and Ultraviolet Observations of the Am-Herculis Object E2003+225
Abstract
Simultaneous X-ray and optical observations of the magnetic white dwarf binary H1405-45 are presented. The orbital modulation at the period of 101 min is clearly observed both in soft and hard X-rays with EXOSAT as well as from 0.4 to 2.2 μ. The soft, optical and infrared light curves show a pronounced minimum at the same phase, while the hard X-rays present a roughly correlated maximum. Fast optical photometry, obtained simultaneously with EXOSAT, reveals the presence of variable (0.3 - 0.7 Hz) fast oscillations. Searches for an X-ray counterpart of these oscillations are yet unconclusive.
